    JustAnswer Doctors Company Overview

This answer website offers users peace of mind. Anyone who has had a pipe burst at 3 a.m., a car that makes a weird sound on a Sunday, or a sick child in the middle of the night, can get expert answers almost immediately — without fear of turning to Google (remember that time you Googled ‘throat pain’ and the top search result claimed you had cancer?).

While the company focuses on answers on a wide range of topics, we just cover the JustAnswer reviews for its doctors and medical question-and-answer portal.

Users can log in to the platform, ask a question — any question — any time, day or night, and get an expert answer from a professional in the field of questioning. JustAnswer reviews state that its users love how easy it is to ask a question and get a legit answer in under 30 minutes.

Is JustAnswer Doctors Right For You?

JustAnswer offers answers to medical questions 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Simply log on to the platform, type in your question, and get a response (usually within 30 minutes) from a certified doctor or nurse practitioner.

It’s ideal for overall medical advice, understanding the severity of symptoms, and discovering if a trip to the emergency room is necessary — or an overreaction. Its low fees and no-nonsense answers make it ideal for anyone who might need further medical advice or treatment. In fact, we recommend turning to JustAnswer before booking an appointment with an online doctor

JustAnswer is perfect for anyone who:

    • Needs answers to medical questions, day or night
    • Doesn’t want to pay an arm and a leg to get a simple medical question answered
    • Wants questions answered by message, phone, or text
    • One-on-one attention from a doctor
    • Feels frustrated after Googling medical symptoms
    • Wants to chat with a medical specialist
    • Needs a reasonably-priced second opinion from a doctor

    Is JustAnswer Doctors Credible?

Founder and CEO Andy Kurtzig started the company after he and his wife had their first child and needed answers to pediatric questions — fast and in the middle of the night. There was nowhere else to turn but to a quick internet search that returned confusing advice and muddled suggestions. He saw a hole in the healthcare market and decided to create a platform that offered reliable advice, day and night.

Obviously, Kurtzig isn’t a doctor, but he is a well-regarded entrepreneur. He saw a need for on-demand doctors and nurses to answer questions, which is why he started JustAnswer. Goldman Sachs named him one of its, “Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs.”

JustAnswer has helped more than 9 million people in over 150 countries. It has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and a 9.6 out of 10 rating with TrustPilot.

JustAnswer reviews mention how patients love that each medical expert goes through the platform’s eight-step verification process and identity and credentials check.

Featured doctors have a range of credentials, ranging in specialties and experience. For example, one of the platform’s featured doctors “Norm S.” has 30 years of experience as a volunteer doctor in Central America and Africa.

Users can see all credentials before asking a doctor a question, offering both freedom and control over who can answer a question. Users don’t pay for answers that have not fully addressed the question or offer shady or confusing advice.

Anyone ask anonymous questions on the site by using a username not associated with their actual names. The platform is also willing to remove any unwanted personal info included in posted questions.

    Is JustAnswers a Scam?

No, JustAnswers is not a scam. It vets highly-qualified doctors and nurses through a rigorous process, ensuring all experts know their stuff. It has an advisory board that keeps a close eye on customer satisfaction. Too many ‘weak’ answers will result in the doctors’ termination of their contract by the board.

The platform doesn’t sell, share, or exchange information. In fact, users don’t need to enter their real names or offer any personal information whatsoever to use the platform.

    How Does JustAnswer Work?

To ask a JustAnswer doctor a question, simply head to the site and submit your question! Most users get answers within six minutes, and nearly all questions are answered within 30 minutes; sometimes, it may take up to 24 hours to get an answer to a question that requires a specialized response.

When you ask a question, you’ll be first directed to a payment page and asked for your billing information. Enter your information, and wait for a JustAnswer expert to answer your question. (You won’t be charged until your question is answered).

Once your question has been answered, you’ll get an email or a text. If your question wasn’t answered appropriately, you can ask another expert for free.

If your answer isn’t thorough enough, you can get more in-depth help through a live phone call, video call, or review. Most of these services are considered premium and cost more than the initial question. If an expert offers a premium answer, simply accept it by clicking the accept button.

JustAnswer Doctors Does NOT treat Some Conditions

JustAnswer is an online question portal for patients, doctors, and other experts. This service was designed to offer patients advice and answers to common medical questions, removing the need to turn to internet searches for answers to questions. While doctors on the platform can offer good advice and answers to tough medical questions, they can’t do everything.

Sometimes there’s just no substitution for an in-person medical professional or a trip to the emergency room.

Just some of the services the platform doesn’t offer include:

    • Urgent care services
    • Radiology and diagnostic readings
    • Prescriptions and/or refills
    • Mental health services (questions experts can do! Services not so much)
    • Physical health services (physical exams, sutures, broken bone setting, etc.)
    • Doctors’ notes

Doctors cannot advise you to treat your own symptoms (ie, can’t tell you how to suture a cut). Though doctors may offer advice on what type of specialist to contact regarding a specific condition or series of symptoms.

Pricing: How Much Does JustAnswer Doctors Cost?

All users (and non-users) can browse previously-answered questions for free (as you would on a site like Quora). Asking and posting questions costs $5 a question (for the first question and follow-up questions). If there are additional costs involved (sometimes specialized questions cost more), you’ll see the fee schedule before entering your credit card or PayPal info.

JustAnswer doctors also offer a premium membership service. The first week of the service is $1 and is considered a ‘free’ trial period. Your membership fees after the free trial depend on the type of questions asked. The more specialized the questions, the higher the fees for a premium membership.

If you’re constantly asking questions that require answers from doctors, lawyers, or other highly-paid professionals, you’ll end up paying a higher monthly fee than a user who asks questions directed toward dog walkers or babysitters.

Most premium memberships start at $19 a month. Here is a price list for all services on the site:

    Browse questions: free

    Ask a question: $5

‘Free’ one-week premium trial membership: $1

Monthly premium costs: $19 a month and up

What Do We Think About JustAnswer Doctors?

We love the simplicity and straight-forward question-and-answer setup of this site. Got a question? Ask it and get an expert answer. Don’t like the answer? Ask another expert for free. It’s really that simple.

Pay per question or purchase a premium membership if you plan on asking more than a few questions each month. The one downside many JustAnswer reviews mentioned was that reviewers wished was for more transparent pricing on the platform. The website doesn’t list the prices for premium memberships, and most reviewers couldn’t figure out how much it costs to call or video chat with an expert. But other than that, most reviewers were happy with the service as advertised.

We love the JustAnswer customer care team and found they respond to concerns relatively quickly. We happen to appreciate the high rating with the BBB and satisfaction guarantee. If an expert doesn’t answer a question appropriately, users can simply ask another expert. Since the platform only hires board-certified doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals and requires all experts to prove their certifications and credentials, we felt that paying $5 a question was money well spent.

If you’ve got a question, and you can’t wait another moment for an answer, ask one of the JustAnswer doctor experts. It sure beats staying awake all night with a crying baby, wondering the best way to get him to sleep.
