    EverlyWell Company Overview

EverlyWell was founded in 2015 with the goal in mind to make at-home-tests affordable and convenient for anyone in need and is one of the most well-known at-home-testing companies. When EverlyWell first launched, they specialized in sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing, but in the course of a few short years, EverlyWell now has an extensive range of tests covering everything from general wellness to sexual health for both women and men. Some of the test options include Thyroid and metabolism, vitamin deficiencies, food sensitivity, and COVID-19.

EverlyWell is more affordable than many other at-home-test-kit providers on the market and always aims to provide the most accurate results. Once you’ve ordered one of the available kits, they are sent out swiftly and discreetly, allowing you to have complete privacy in the comfort of your home.

EverlyWell allows you ultimate flexibility to avoid having a bunch of tests done in a lab because, let's be real for a minute, there just aren’t enough hours in the day. Gone are the days of driving to the doctor’s office and waiting to be seen by your doctor or lab technician.

EverlyWell reviewers love that they also provide easy-to-understand results and actionable insights from board-certified doctors, putting you in control of how you manage your health.

    Is EverlyWell Right for You?

EverlyWell is perfect for anyone wanting to know more about their health. EverlyWell’s wide range of tests can give you the answers you’re looking for without leaving the comfort of your home.

Whether you’re looking for answers regarding your sexual health, overall wellness, food sensitivities, possible allergies, or need a COVID-19 test, EverlyWell has over 30 types of tests to help you take control of your health.

One of EverlyWell’s tests could be right for you if you’re experiencing any of the following symptoms:

If you’re unsure of which test to take, you can effortlessly search by the symptoms you’re experiencing, and EverlyWell will suggest one or multiple tests that are best suited for you.

With EverlyWell, you can order your tests online with complete privacy, and tests will be delivered to you in discreet packaging. Each lab EverlyWell has partnered with is CLIA certified, which means they have maintained top-quality to obtain both state and federal certifications and have the same high standards as your primary care doctor.

Every test at EverlyWell is reviewed and approved by a board-certified physician in your state to ensure that each test ordered is relevant for your health. Once your test is complete and you’ve received the results, an EverlyWell online doctor is available to answer any questions you might have and will help you put together an action plan that is best suited for your diagnosis. For example, if you test positive for an STD, you can have a free consultation with a board-certified physician that will help you navigate the next steps. They are also able to send any prescriptions to your closest pharmacy, if necessary.

    Where is EverlyWell Available?

Outside of the COVID-19 test (available in all 50 states), EverlyWell is available in 49 states. Unfortunately, they cannot offer their services or send prescriptions to people living in New York due to their regulations around testing.

If you’re tired of doing things the old-fashioned way and want quick, affordable, and convenient lab work done, EverlyWell just might be the thing for you.

    How Does EverlyWell Work?

Getting started with EverlyWell is simple. You can literally take control of your health in three easy steps.

    1. Order your tests online - The test(s) will arrive at your doorstep within two days in subtle packaging and include a prepaid shipping label for you to send your sample to the lab.

    2. Collect your sample - Each EverlyWell kit comes with a unique identification number. Once you’ve registered your ID number and test, a board-certified doctor will review and approve your test order. Once you’ve collected your sample, simply slip the containers into the provided biohazard bag and drop it in the mail.

      1. All test kits contain an in-depth guide that will explain how to collect each sample; it is essential to read the instructions before collecting your samples. You wouldn’t want to send a urine sample when the test called for a blood sample or vice versa.

    3. Get your results - You can expect your digital results within two to seven days, depending on the test type. One nice thing about getting digital results is that you can easily send them on to your primary care physician or family members.

Have follow-up questions or need extra guidance on what to do next? No problem! EverlyWell understands and always provides its clients with insight on navigating any results you’ve received.

    Is EverlyWell Credible?

EverlyWell was founded by Julia Cheek after she’d dealt with a bunch of unexplainable symptoms, had seen countless specialists, and paid thousands of dollars for cumbersome lab tests. After going through this tedious process, she called on her smartest medical professional friends to help her develop a better, more convenient, and much more affordable alternative to traditional lab testing.

With EverlyWell’s online service, you don’t need to see your primary doctor for a lab referral, and you sure as H-E-double hockey sticks don’t have to go to a lab to be tested for a condition that is embarrassing to talk about with someone you’ve never met.

You might be asking yourself if the EverlyWell tests themselves are legit once they get to the lab. Welllll, EverlyWell offers its consumers access to Laboratory Developed Tests (LDTs). An LDT is generally considered a test designed, developed, and performed within a single laboratory. All the labs EverlyWell has partnered with are CLIA-certified, which means states and other entities also oversee lab testing to ensure accurate and reliable test results. EverlyWell labs have to meet high standards to obtain both state and federal certifications and submit to regular inspections. EverlyWell only offers tests that meet rigorous standards for reliability and validity for at-home collection.

    At-Home-Test-Kits Offered by EverlyWell

EverlyWell tests are divided into five categories:

Most Popular Tests Offered by EverlyWell

Before we take a deep dive into ALL the tests that EverlyWell offers, let’s first focus on their most popular, as we suspect you’re probably most interested in these too. We know we are!

    Food Sensitivity Test

This test measures your body’s response to 96 foods and is great for those looking for guidance on what types of food might be best during an elimination diet. Each food is rated on a scale from 0-3, with 3 being the highest reaction level. It is important to mention that this is not an allergy test but will give you an overview of what could be causing you intestinal discomfort. This test is not intended to be a diagnosis for celiac disease or lactose intolerance.

This test measures the following food sensitivities:

    • Dairy - 5 types (Cheese, Goat milk, yogurt)

    • Eggs - 2 types (Yolks and whites)

    • Fruits - 16 types (Apples, grapes, citrus)

    • Grains - 10 types (Oats, Gluten, brown rice)

    • Legumes - 5 types (Peanut, soybean)

    • Meat - 5 types (Chicken, beef, pork)

    • Seafood - 11 types (Salmon, tuna, clams)

    • Seeds and nuts - 7 types (Almonds, cashews, chia seeds)

    • Vegetables - 20 types (Onion, carrots, spinach)

    • Spices - 15 types (Black pepper, coffee, garlic)

The entire list is available on the EverlyWell website, but we wanted to highlight a few common foods that most people have in their kitchens.

Pro Tip: EverlyWell also offers their customers access to their Comprehensive Food Sensitivity test that will measure over 200 foods that might be causing you internal discomfort.

    Indoor/Outdoor Allergies Test

This test is great if you’re not quite sure what’s causing your itchy throat, watery eyes, or sneezing attacks. The allergy test will measure your response to the 40 most common indoor and outdoor allergens, including pets, trees, grasses, and dust mites. Your report results will be on a scale from very low to very high, and you will be given helpful advice for next steps.

This test measures your reactivity to the following allergens:

    • Grasses - 7 types (Bermuda, Kentucky, Rye grasses)

    • Trees - 14 types (Oak, Olive, Walnut trees)

    • Weeds - 9 types (Common ragweed, nettle, rough pigweed)

    • Mold - 4 types (P,C,A)

    • Pet Allergens - 2 types (Dog and cat dander)

    • Pests - 2 types (German cockroach and mouse urine proteins)

    • Dust mites - 2 types (D.fari and D.pter)

Again, the complete list is available on their website.

    Thyroid Test

The thyroid test allows you to easily measure your levels for the three main thyroid hormones (TSH, T3, and T4) plus thyroid antibodies. By measuring each of the three hormones, you will better understand how your thyroid functions and if you might be experiencing thyroid dysfunction.

If your thyroid gland isn’t working correctly, it may be due to the following:

    • An underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism) which means your thyroid isn’t producing enough thyroid hormone. This can cause you to gain weight, become overly tired, be sensitive to the cold, and muscle aches may occur.

    • An overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism) means the thyroid produces too much thyroxine (T4). Symptoms can include weight loss, anxiety, excessive sweating, and heat sensitivity.

Pro tip: Most of EverlyWell’s competitors sell the thyroid antibodies test and thyroid test separately.

    COVID-19 Test

You can now test for SARS-CoV-2 infection easily without the inconvenience of waiting in long car lines or visiting an in-person testing site. You will receive secure, digital results within 24-48 hours of the lab receiving your sample. One of EverlyWell’s telehealth consults will be available to help you navigate the next steps should your test come back positive. This test is a nasal swab test only and will not check for COVID antibodies.

The best part--the accuracy of the labs using Everlywell’s COVID-19 Test Home Collection Kit DTC exceeds 95% sensitivity and 98% specificity, and the user error rate for collection is only around 0.001%.

Pro tip: If you need your test in a hurry, EverlyWell offers expedited shipping at an additional cost. However, if you’re considering traveling and need a negative test prior to, EverlyWell cannot guarantee an exact turnaround time. We recommend that you check the region's COVID regulations before any travel.

EverlyWell is a convenient, affordable, reliable, and accurate way of testing just about anything under the sun. Quite frankly, while we were writing this review, it was hard not to head straight to their website and order a handful of tests just to see what we were all allergic to.

If you’ve been feeling off lately and would rather not go down the WebMD rabbit hole of symptoms that might lead you to believe a third arm is growing from your head, get on over to EverlyWell, order a test or two, and find out what’s really going on with your health.
