If you’ve followed Ro Pharmacy across the half-decade since its inception, you’ll know that the online pharmacy has undergone a very interesting evolution since 2017. The brand began as a small men’s telehealth startup with a focus on supplements treating erectile dysfunction and men’s health issues.
Although the online pharmacy platform originally started with a specialty focus on men’s health and wellness issues, Ro took a big bet on expanding its offerings to account for women’s reproductive health options. How big? As PRNewswire reported back in 2021, Ro spent a whopping $225 million to acquire the burgeoning startup Modern Fertility.
Modern Fertility concurrently came up around the same timeframe as Ro Pharmacy, and the company was eager to partner with its telehealth industry peer. Modern Fertility began with a specialty focus on women’s health and reproductive issues, and from the very beginning, CEO Afton Vechert was elated to expand the scope of the company’s operations alongside Ro.
“About 1 in 6 couples struggle to conceive and yet there are only about 500 infertility clinics nationwide. We now have the opportunity to dramatically accelerate our vision of supporting women in every single step of the journey in reproductive care and beyond. With Ro, we will be able to drive better outcomes and lower costs for millions of women.”

One year later, and it seems like that bet is already paying off with massive dividends. After its last funding round over the last month, Bloomberg reported that Ro Pharmacy’s market valuation rose to over $7 billion USD. Moreover, Reuters recently reported that the company is slated to go public in the near future, indicating that Ro Pharmacy has quite a bright financial future ahead of it.
Ro recently took the initiative to seal this bright future by making another big buyout, in the form of paying roughly $100 million to acquire Dadi, a fertility test and sperm collection startup that’d managed to garner $10 million in capital over the previous two years since it’s founding. With this move, Ro hopes to expand to not only serving the women’s fertility health space, but men’s fertility health too.
Here’s what you should know about the acquisition, and what it means for the future of both startups.
Ro Pharmacy Network: What You Should Know
Before acquiring Dadi and expanding their reach into the men’s fertility and reproductive health space, Ro Pharmacy was already offering a fair bit of telehealth options well before then. Per Ro’s FAQ page, they carry and deliver generic medications that represent nearly three-quarters (or 70%) of all pharmaceuticals in the United States.
In case that doesn’t sound big enough (which we doubt), that adds up to over 500 different generic medications, all serving to benefit your general health and wellness. The best part is that Ro can function as your all-in-one online pharmacy for rates as affordable as $5 a month!
In a country where people are far too often priced out of receiving the essential treatments they need, the option to have these prescriptions delivered at such cost-effective rates is huge. You can have these subscriptions mail delivered over 30 or 90-day installments.
Now, if you’re struggling with your fertility health, you can have Dadi’s male fertility health services shipped to you more affordably and expediently than ever, just now under the Ro Pharmacy name.
How The Dadi Kit Will Change (While Also Staying The Same)
Fundamentally, Dadi’s male fertility health service plans aren’t changing. The same services and same Dadi sperm kit product are still intact, but they will now be sold for $199 and rebranded as the Ro Sperm Kit. With this new affordable sperm kit package being offered by Ro and Dadi (over five times more affordable than competing sperm banks), you can get:
- 3-9 sperm collection vials
- A tamper-proof test kit
- One year of free storage
- Lab conducted sample analysis
- A 48-hour test result turnaround
- 2-factor authentication for added privacy
This kit is conveniently able to be shipped discreetly and mailed back discreetly, and any samples you provide will be analyzed and stored at the New England Cryogenic Center. Your sample will be evaluated for important factors like sperm count, concentration, and whether or not any STIs are present.
The NECC is one of the largest full-service cryobanks in the world and has been operating for over five decades, so you can trust that you’re getting nothing less than the best in men’s fertility healthcare.
Where exactly can you get this care, though?
Ro Pharmacy Mail Order Options
Ro (and by extension, Dadi) now offers their services to nearly half the country, or to be exact, 23 states plus the District of Columbia. Whether you need the Ro Test Kit, or one of the 500 generic medications the company offers, you can have either shipped as fast as 1-2 business days to:
