    Rizatriptan

    Generic Maxalt®

Rizatriptan is an acute medication for migraine treatment that offers relief during migraine episodes. It is used to treat acute migraines in children over 6 years of age and adults. This medication should not be used for cluster headaches or as a method to prevent migraine headaches, as it targets the brain to reduce the pain caused by migraine headaches. Rizatriptan is a specialized medication and will only reduce the pain caused by migraine headaches. Most Rizatriptan users claim that their migraines disappear completely after taking the medication while others have found their migraines to be far less painful. Rizatriptan is available only with your doctor's prescription.
